While on the Albemarle Loop, dock and stay in the charming town of Plymouth. Enjoy breathtaking nature—spotting bald eagles and ospreys—while cruising along the historic waterfront. There are two docking locations. The Roanoke River Lighthouse docks are for boats up to 47’. The Brick Landing Docks are for boats longer than 47’. Both docks have water, electrical hookups, and pump-out stations. Free laundry facilities are available at the Roanoke River Maritime Museum.
Sample the local fare in wonderful downtown restaurants, coffee shops, and ice cream parlors all within a 5-minute walk from the docks. The downtown shops feature works of many local artists, and craftsmen. Don’t miss the chance to visit three fascinating museums, view 165+ year old homes, churches and graveyards. Explore a replica of the Roanoke River lighthouse, walk civil war history and nature trails. Kayak the River or the more peaceful Conaby Creek. For your convenience, food shopping and drug stores are a short mile away. Laundry is available at the Maritime Museum. A special note for sailing boats. The height of the North Carolina highway 45 bridge at the mouth of the Roanoke River is 50 feet. Know your mast height and double check your charts. Always use caution and be aware!
